Daily Sketches October 30th 2013

These are a couple of quick sketches I did for my storyboarding class. We have to do a little storyboard about what motivates us so I drew myself and my boyfriend to use in my storyboards. 

Midtone sketchbook

So today I finally started drawing in my midtone sketchbook. Its a sketchbook with grey paper so you can draw on it with shades and highlights. I decided to play around with my markers and I redrew the layout I made for my falling leaf animation (coming soon). 

Life drawinggg

So today I am very satisfied with my life drawing work so I decided to post some here. Plus I'm mixing it up and putting different things on my blog.  I was mostly doing leg drawings for my assignment then at the very end I did a full body figure drawing. 

Cannonball Drop Animations

 

Third assignment for my animation timing techniques class.  We had to make a cannonball drop on to a soft surface, a hard surface, and a box or other object.

 

 

 



Xander Character Sheet

 

So this is my villain character for my hero and villain assignment.  His name is Xander.  I had some trouble figuring out how to draw him at first but as I drew him more I had more and more fun with it. 

 



Violet Proflie Sheet

 

OH MY GOODNESS. A blog update! I haven't done one of these for a week.  So sorry, school work has picked up and I now have much less leisure time for drawing fun stuff in my sketchbook to post.  From now on I will probably mostly be posting school work and not much else.  Anyway, this is my hero character Violet and her complete profile sheet.  I am really happy with how it turned out and I really like this character.

Another round of expressions for my hero character.  Soon the portfolio pages for her and my villain should be done. 

 

 



INKtober 9 and 10

 

Okay so I really enjoyed making little monsters out of ink splotches.  Not only is it a fun INKtober thing but its a fun way to think outside the box and use different shapes in different ways.  Kind of like the shape challenge.  Anyway here are my monsters of the day (two today because I missed yesterday).

 



ANIMATIONSSS

 

So today I decided to convert my first two animation assignments into GIFs so I could post them here.  The first one is my Pendulum, the second is my bouncing ball.

 



INKtober 8

 

Today for INKtober I took this suggestion from a friend.  I put a bit of ink on a page a blew on it, then created a monster from it.  He looks kind of odd to me but it was only my first attempt.  I would like to try to do more of these in the future.

 



Daily Sketches October 8th 2013

 

These are some character expression I'm working on for my Hero character.  I'm trying to fill out this 25 essential expressions list for the most recent drawing jam posted by my character design teacher.  These are just a few of the expressions that I've finished so far.

 



INKtober 7

Today I decided to pull out my copic markers for my INKtober drawing. I tried to use my copics without doing the sketch in pencil first which I'm not used to. So yeah.  

This was supposed to be uploaded last night but my phone is mean and didn't do it I guess. So here ya go. 

Daily Sketches October 6th 2013

 

Here are the sketches I did today.  These characters decided they didn't want me to draw the ones I should be for my assignment so they made me draw them instead.

 

 

I really like this second one.  I would like to try and clean it up digitally if I have time and colour it.



INKtober 4, 5, and 6

 

I didn't do anything for inktober these past 2 days so today I decided to do 3 of them to make up for it.  I tried to mix it up a bit with different in techniques.  These are the drawings I came up with.

 



INKtober Day 3

Heres my INKtober drawing of the day. I bought some coloured ink and had some fun with it. I'm really having fun experimenting with ink.  I didn't really get any other drawings done today that I could post because I was hard at work on an animation assignment. I will try to post my final pencil test for that when its done.  But for now INKtober! 

INKtober Day 2

 

Today I continued to experiment with ink and water.  It was fun to put water all over the page then watch the ink spread.  I'm having way too much fun with this whole INKtober thing.

 



Daily Sketch #7 October 2nd 2013

 

My hero character for my character design class.  Still playing with her outfit a bit but I like this one a little better than the last one I had. 

 



INKtober Day 1

 

Today I was told about this lovely little challenge called Inktober.  Which is great because its the 1st of October so I can actually try to participate in this.  It's generally what it sounds like.  Do an ink drawing on every day of October.  I had fun with this.  So much in fact that I was dipping my fingers into my bottle of ink to smear it over the page.

 



Daily Sketch #6 October 1st 2013

 

Today I decided to try and play around with using pencil scans as line work and added colour to my sketch.  It was a fairly quick colouring job but I am still trying to work my way back into digital drawings (seeing as its been a long time since I really focused on finishing a nice digital illustration)  I'm hoping doing little sketches like this will help me get back into doing full out digital drawings like I used to do.
